Mental Health & Wellness for Mediums
If you are a medium or healing arts professional, like it or not, you are on the front lines of the global mental health crisis. To ensure we serve our clients ethically and responsibly, each of us has a responsibility to increase our awareness and literacy regarding mental health and the impact of grief on overall health. In this workshop, we will explore important red flags, learning to recognize when to refer a client for professional support and identify resources to refer them to the help they may need. We’ll also explore additional training opportunities, for those of you who may wish to become certified in Mental Health First Aid and Suicide Prevention.
Through discussion and practical exercises, we will learn to enhance the positive impact of our work by unfolding a deeper understanding of human emotions, positive psychology and the power of compassion. We’ll explore ways of promoting self-efficacy, strength spotting and resilience building as we work with clients.
We’ll identify ways to build a critical framework of support for our own mental health and well-being, buffering against burnout and compassion fatigue which is very common in doing this work. Emerge with enhanced personal resilience, self-care strategies and self-determined goals. Let’s take the time to fill our own cup, so we may continue to serve others in sustainable and healthy ways.
